YAKUTSK. March 27. VOSTOK MEDIA – The Yakutia Council of Veterans addressed the Yakutsk Administration a request of setting a bust or a monument to Joseph Stalin.
Albina Lyhina, adviser of the Yakutsk mayor, said the Council explained its intention by the merits of Stalin as a leader in the Great Patriotic War, Interfax reports.
Earlier the bust of Stalin was fixed up in Mirny City in honor of the 50th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War at a request of the local veterans.
The similar request was addressed to the Yakutia Administration in July of 2007 by members of the local branch of the Russian Communist Party. The appeal was motivated by the battle merits of J. Stalin and coming 90th anniversary of the October Socialist Revolution.
