Lida Demesh Arrived in Vladivostok

The Russian vessel Lida Demesh, which had been kept for two and half days in the port of Kimchaek, has just arrived in Vladivostok.
Vostok Media reports, the ship’s captain Yuriy Buzanov held a brief news conference at the mooring of the Vladivostok Marine Trade Port. He said that the crew of 25 citizens of Russia was in good health. The crew accepted the incident moderately and behaved itself in a reserved way during the forced stay in Kimchaek. The stores of provision were enough as the vessel “always has emergency ration”.
Talking on the reasons for detainment Buzanov said that on February 23 bad weather forced them to approach to the shore and enter the territorial waters of the DPRK near Cape Musudan. Captain said that “chose the least of two harms”. The wave height reached 3-4 meters, the wind speed was up to 15-25 meters/sec. Such weather might have remove the shipped cargo and turn the vessel. We remind, Lida Demesh was carrying 208 Japanese cars.
The patrol boats of the DPRK showed a signal flag that meant in Marine language the order of following the boats and escorted Lida Demesh to Kimchaek. Captain Buzanov ordered his deputy to report to the Vladivostok Rescue and Coordination Center that the vessel had been detained and was being escorted to the North Korean port.
While the question of release was being actively discussed, Yuriy Buzanov argued that North Korean fishers often hide from storms in the Posyet Gulf on the south of Primorsky Krai. The captain said that Evgeniy Valkovich, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Chongjing, had done his best to facilitate the release of the seamen.
