Russia and North Korea Open Joint Transport Corridor

MOSCOW. April 27. VOSTOK MEDIA – Russian Railways (RZD) OJSC and DPRK Railroad Ministry are jointly implementing a pilot railway project Khasan-Rajin. In the end of the week Vladimir Yakunin, president of Russian Railways, and Kim Yong Sam, North Korean Railroad Minister, signed an agreement of cooperation, the RZD-partner information agency reports.

The counterparts agreed to jointly implement the pilot project Khasan–Rajin that provides for reconstruction of a Tumangang-Rajin railroad section, construction of a container terminal in the port of Rajin, and further exploitation of this infrastructure, the RZD Board of Internal Communications reports.
