South Korean Serviceman Hospitalized on Bird Flu Suspicion

SEOUL. April 28. VOSTOK MEDIA – The Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) reports, a 22-year serviceman Cho was hospitalized on bird flu suspicion. The man is supposed to contract with disease at a bird farm in the Chullabuk-Do province. Cho took part in a campaign on killing birds infected with H5N1 virus, a strain dangerous for humans, the Seulsky Vestnik (Seoul Tribune, Russian newspaper in Seoul) reports.
Cho was placed under quarantine when his temperature had risen high. The KCDC says the diagnosis is not yet clear. The patient’s symptoms may also say for viral pneumonia.
Meanwhile the virus is raging on Korean bird farms. On April 20, 47 proved or suspected virus centers were registered in the country. The highly pathogenic H5N1 virus was found in 25 cases.
