‘Swap Your Cigarettes for Sweets’ Campaign Launches in Kamchatka
Anti-smoking events are held throughout Russia as part of the World No Tobacco Day.
PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. May 28. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Petrpavlovsk-Kamchatsky activists will hold ‘Drop Smoking’ campaign on May 29-30 as part of a national event aimed at helping people quit smoking.
Residents of the city will have a chance to swap their cigarettes for sweets. The sweets will b handed out by members of Kamchatka Youth Art Work Center on May 29 from 11am, at the square near the fountain. Anther awareness-raising event will take place at the Komsmolskaya Square on May 30, at 12pm.
Kamchatka authorities have already held a number of round-table discussions in schools and universities as part of the Russia-wide ‘Drop Smoking’ event, which was launched by Russian Ministry of Public Health and Social Development.
The highlight of the anti-smoking event is the national campaign titled “May 31 – No Tobacco Day”, which aims to help those who are wishing to quit smoking.
