UZHNO-SAKHALINSK. May 29. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The exhibition called ‘Songs of Sorrow and Joy. Life of the Sakhalin Koreans’ started in the Sakhalin Region Art Museum. The exhibition is implemented as part of 60-aniversary celebration of ‘Se Kore Sinmun’ newspaper.
Photographer from Sakhalin Lee Yae Sik will present and his Japanese colleague Katayama Michio
The event should be regarded as a hallmark cultural affair at regional level, said Alexey Bayandina, the Head of Communications Policy Department during his speech at the opening of the exposition. A photographer from Sakhalin Lee Yae Sik as well as his Japanese colleague Katayama Michio will present their works at the exhibition. The artists chose to display their works in black and white, but this only contributes to the specialty of the exhibition. While his colleague Katayama Michio has already exhibited his works at Uzhno-Sakhalinsk, the works of Lee Yae Sik can be found only in the ‘Se Kore Sinmun’ newspaper.
