Viktor Khristenko: Car Import Tax Rise has Proven Useless

VLADIVOSTOK. May 29. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Viktor Khristenko, RF Minister of Trade and Industry admitted that imposition of protective foreign car import tax did not yield any positive results, reported Auto.Mail.Ru.


According to Khristenko, businessmen imported a myriad of cars prior to the rise in the foreign car import tax late last year and those cars are still available from car dealers. Domestic cars are not a suitable substitution to second hand foreign made ones.


The Volgian car factory was scorched by the Russian Minister. Khristenko also added he would have taken the obsolete VAZ 2105 and its variants off the market a long time ago.
