Blagoveshchensk and Heihe are Now Sister Cities

BLAGOVESHCHENSK. September 29. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Recently mayors of Blagoveshchensk and Heihe have signed a twin city agreement. It is symbolic that the agreement was concluded on the eve of the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. “Signing of the agreement is of great importance for both the residents of Blagoveshchensk and Heihe locals, because this is a new stage in the development of relations between our countries,” – Mayor of Blagoveshchensk Alexander Migulya told RIA Vostok-Media.

During the formal meeting the two delegations have held talks on next year’s co-operation.

“The first thing we intend to learn from each other is administration management,” - The Heihe city mayor, Zhang Jingchuan, stated. “Secondly, we plan to co-operate in the spheres of science, technology and economy. Moreover, we are considering the establishment of interaction of student teams from our countries. We also plan to co-operate in the area of sports. We are looking to extend economic and trade co-operation.”

Alexander Reshetnikov, Minister for External Economic Relations, Labour and Consumer Market, emphasized that “the regional administration is interested in the major international projects and intends to facilitate the implementation of the projects in every possible way.
