Suifenhe Ice Sculptors Created Ice Castle in Downtown Vladivostok

The New Year’s decorations of the Central Square of Vladivostok are well underway.

VLADIVOSTOK. December 29. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The New Year’s decorations of the Central Square of Vladivostok, officially known as the Square of the Fighters for the Soviet Power in the Far East, are well underway.


So far, the changes that the Central Square of Vladivostok underwent have enjoyed appreciation by the residents of the city.

Residents of and visitors to Vladivostok are welcome to take part in the New Year’s Eve party, which will feature concerts, contests and lots of party games for children with presents from Father Frost (Russian Santa) and Snow Maiden.


The New Year’s party will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 31. At 8:45 p.m., Vladivostok mayor Igor Pushkarev will extend New Year greetings to residents of the city. The event will be finished off with an impressive firework display at 9 p.m.


The Central Square has turned into a beautiful ice castle with lots of ice sculptures. Even now you can visit this place with your family and have a good time. The New Year’s Tree that has been placed there was named the largest New Year’s Tree in Russia.


The ice sculptures were made by 11 sculptors from the Chinese city of Suifenhe, who had been invited by Vladivostok Department of Foreign Affairs and Tourism within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the cities. Today, the ice sculptors will complete their work and return back home, press-service of Vladivostok Administration reports.
