VOSTOK-MEDIA – A $ 2.8 billion contract concluded at the MAKS air show between Russian Defense Ministry and Sukhoi aircraft manufacturer for 64 new fighter jets in August this year is considered to be one of the top 10 events of 2009 in the Russian Army, RIA Novosti wrote. According to the documents, the Russian Air Force will be provided with 48 Su-35S strike fighters within the period from 2009 to 2015, 12 Su-27SM jets in 2010-2011, and four Su-30M2 in 2010. In 2008, RF Defense Ministry and the aircraft manufacturer have signed a contract to supply Russian Air Force with thirty-two Su-34 frontline bombers, a spokesman for Sukhoi told RIA Vostok-Media.
