Migrant Birds to Be Shot Off in Amur Oblast
The selective shoot-off of birds is connected with a threat of bird flu.
BLAGOVESCHENSK. March 31. VOSTOK MEDIA – A selective shoot-off of migrant birds will be conducted in the Amur Oblast. The birds’ blood will be checked for the avian flu virus (bird flu). Opening of the 2008 spring hunting season depends on results of the checks. The level of danger will be determined at a conference on April 3, Amur.info reports.
In 2006 hunting for birds was prohibited in view of the threat of bird flu.
