This time organizers again decided not to coordinate the protest with the city hall, because, they say, such meetings require no notifications to the authorities.

VLADIVOSTOK. August 31. VOSTOK-MEDIA – A rally in support of Article 31 of the Constitution, which guarantees the right to public gathering, is scheduled to be held at Vladivostok’s central square at 6:00 p.m. on Aug. 31.

Although the upcoming demonstration against restrictions on freedom of assembly is held for the fifth time in Vladivostok, it was approved by the authorities only once. This time organizers again decided not to coordinate the protest with the city hall, because, under Russian law, such meetings require no notifications to the authorities.

Organizers said this is going to be a non-partisan event involving different political parties and NGOs: TIGR, the Other Russia, Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Yabloko, the Peoples Democratic Union, and others.

Traditionally, the meeting is planned to be capped with poems and songs on the pressing political issues.
