YAKUTSK. 11 November. VOSTOK-MEDIA. The III International Conference “Cities of Universal Eurasian Heritage” was held in Surakarta (Indonesia). 19 countries took participation. Russian delegation included 4 citizens of Yakutia. Guests from Yakutia represented national festival “Ysiakh”, series of blessings (algys), played khomus, performed toyuk and introduced other guests to shamanic culture. Participants of the conference estimated at the true worth cultural heritage of the nationality Sakha and agreed to acknowledge yakutians culture as an immaterial UNESCO heritage.
Conference organization included a scientific-practical part at which delegations listened to reports on preserving immaterial cultural heritage and its role in the purposes of urban economic development.
Practical part was held at the immaterial cultural objects of Indonesia. Participants of the conference visited factory which produces Javanese batic – material processed with wax and were represented a kris – traditional Indonesian dagger. Guests saw a musical performance of the puppet theatre vayang and Javanese dances representing gods and goddesses.
Afterwards, participants visited two temples that are included in UNESCO heritage: Borobudur temple constructed in VII-VIII A.D. and Hindu temple Prambanan (VII-IX).
At the conference delegations adopted a declaration on discussed issues. Declaration included advices to city mayors, country and organization leaders for implementation of taken decisions.
