ANADYR. February 26. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Roman Kopin, the Governor of the Chukotka Autonomous District, signed a resolution “On adoption of the long-term Chukotka program on assistance to recent graduates in acquisition of housing for a period 2010-2015”.
A spokesman for Chukotka Administration told Vostok-Media, secondary education and high school graduates who are younger than 35 years of age and who, prior to making application for the participation in the program, have worked in the field of their expertise in Chukotka public sector not less than one year, are eligible to take part in the program.
The program provides for rendering financial aid to recent graduates and their families, in the form of welfare payments, which compensate partially the cost of a dwelling purchased in Chukotka Autonomous District. The availability of additional resources (own funds or home loan mortgage resources) necessary to pay for a new housing, is a prerequisite for receiving welfare payments.
The solution of the housing problem is expected to enhance highly-qualified personnel retention in Chukotka public sector. At present, the Department of Education and Youth Policy, which is the coordinator of the program, is setting up Chukotka Interdepartmental Committee which will be assigned to identify people eligible for the participation in the program. For this purpose, the Committee will have to work our criteria for selection of participants in the program and to decide which documents are required when making an application.
