Shakeup Launched to Reduce Staff in Vladivostok Duma

The cuts were made following a decree of Primorsky Krai Gov. Sergei Darkin aimed to reduce budgetary spending.

VLADIVOSTOK. April 30. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Chairman of Vladivostok Duma Valery Rozov has issued a decree reducing staff in the administrative offices of the city Duma, an official told Vostok-Media.

The cuts were made following a decree of Primorsky Krai Gov. Sergei Darkin aimed to reduce budgetary spending. The number of positions will be reduced by 20 percent.

Specifically, the position of the assistant chairmen and a number of positions in various departments of the City Duma have been eliminated. Along with the reductions in City Duma staff, Valery Rozov has submitted a proposal to the Committee on Budget, Taxes and Finance to curtail budget expenses on maintenance of the Vladivostok Duma for 2010, as well as to cut the chairman’s allowance and other expenditures..

The saved funds will go to social needs of Vladivostok.
