VLADIVOSTOK. July 19. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Vladivostok lacks 3,500 hotel rooms of various types and categories, while the lack of five-star hotels discourages high-ranking officials, heads of states, cabinet ministers, senior executives of leading foreign companies from visiting the city.
The construction of two hotels with an aggregate of 500 suites at Burny Bay and Korabelnaya Naberezhnaya will allow the city to relieve the pressure on hotel rooms in Vladivostok. In addition, the construction project would create up to 800 jobs, let alone tax revenues to the budgets of all levels.
The hotel under construction at Amur Bay will focus primarily on tourists.
The Ministry of Sport and Tourism has suggested a set of criteria for five-star hotels, as well as the scope of services the hotels will provide to their guests.
The hotels will be given a test run in about eighteen months, said Marina Lomakina, the director of a local mortgage company. The official opening of the hotels will be held six months prior to APEC 2012 Russia.
