VLADIVOSTOK. August 4. VOSTOK-MEDIA – As the International Fishery Congress is drawing near, the number of entrants for the event, which will take place in Vladivostok on August 7-9, is rising.
So far, companies from 13 countries have entered for the event: Britain, India, Denmark, Lithuania, Germany, China, Norway, New Zealand, Chile, South Korea, the USA, Ukraine and Japan.
Russia will be represented at the forum by companies from Astrakhan, Kemerovo, Magadan, Sakhalin oblasts; Kamchatka Krai, Khabarovsk, Primorsky Krai as well as businesses based in Moscow, Perm, Ryazan and St. Petersburg.
Organizers said they expect the number of participants to rise as the fishery congress is drawing considerable interest worldwide.
Officials, researchers and fishery companies from all over the world will discuss the pressing issues of the present-day fishing industry. This year’s theme for the congress is “Fishing Industry in Russia. Shifting to the Policy of Leadership and Innovations”.
Hectic program awaits the participants in the event. The business part of the forum’s program includes a plenary meeting, workshop sessions and round-table discussions. Organizers said the cultural part will be just as interesting.
In addition, the participants in the forum will have a chance to visit and take part in the Pacific Future Fishery-2010 trade fair, where state-of-the-art technologies and equipment used in fishing sector, as well as fish and marine products will be presented.
