Tiger killer is punished in Primorye.

Yesterday, November 24, the magistrate of the court district # 88 of the Ussurisk region pronounced Sergei Burtsev, who killed a female tiger in June 2010 in the vicinity of the village Krounovka, guilty. He is guilty of committing a crime stipulated by the pp “a” and “b” part 1. Article 258 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – illegal hunting of the environmentally protected animals.

According to court ruling, Burtsev is sentenced to a fine of 150 thousand Roubles as well as the granting of the civil claim to collect 575,125 Roubles to compensate for the damage caused by the killing of the tiger: 50 thousand from this sum have been already voluntarily compensated by Sergei Burtsev. The poacher also lost his guns: the government confiscated his two unregistered smooth-bore hunting rifles
