MOSCOW. April 3. VOSTOK MEDIA – Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Dmitriy Mezentsev said that provisions regulating the Russian segment of the Internet will be modified. The changes relate to intolerable actions in support of the international terrorism and propaganda of violence, KM.ru reports.
“We should remember the tragic events in Dubrovka and Moscow in 1999 are being kept in social memory and we must counter the extremist actions,”- Mezentsev said.
The deputy chairperson stressed that present status-quo in the Russian Internet must be maintained: “Regulating the Internet in the prejudice of mass media rights and freedoms is unacceptable.”
